Michelin Power RS Tire Review

The Power RS is Michelin’s newest flagship sport tire. Boasting new dual-compound technology derived from its latest racing exploits, the Power RS also has a new patented carcass construction that is claimed to allow excellent straight-line stability as well as increased confidence at extreme lean angles. The Power RS will be available in 13 different sized (four front, nine rear) to cover a broad range of sportbikes, for everything from 300cc to large-displacement machines. Watch the video for more information and stay tuned with the website to see when more sizes are available. After you’ve tried out the tires, let us know how you like them in the comments.

hey sporbike track gear, like your videos a lot. I am about change tires for my 2013 Ducati Panigale 1199, I did not plan go for track this year but I ride very assgreesivly on the street. The summer season is almost over, I am looking for a street tire that has strong grip on wet road. What do you recommend? So far I have Michelin power RS, Michelin Power super sport. I want Michelin Road polit 4 but it doesn’t have 200 rear size. Which one is better on the street for safty?

Khafid GTEightSix says:

I was waiting to finally get a review so thank you for that. BUT I’ll stick with rosso 3s. Michelin advertised a competitive price hahaha, I guess most riders have privet jets and lapdog with funny haircuts….

dirtysanchezzzable says:

Nice , I’ll be replacing my Pirelli super corsa with these on my 1100 aprilia Factory soon

TrackSol says:

The bike manufacturers often list only one tire pressure recommendation for max load (up to 250lbs in some cases). What pressures do lighter riders use?

ayowser01 says:

if this is better than the pirelli supercorsa sp v2 as a track-capable canyon tire, then I’m game.

3N1Motorsports.com says:

@sporttrack Brian you didn’t mention anything about heat cycling of these tires. Possibly a great tire option for the track day guy that doesn’t have tire warmers?

pedro nogueira says:

My M7RRs needed replacement. Got these, because of all the hype. Did 700km. Got rid of them. Got new M7RRs. Expensive mistake – don’t be an idiot like I was, go for the Metzelers in the first place.

FIFTYmil says:

Dunlop Q3, Rosso III, M7RR, and Power RS- which one has the longest tire life on public roads?

Alejandro mb says:

Hi the michelin power rs is better or worse than the rosso II in the wet?

Will Longden says:

for all asking/talking about the reccomended tyre pressures, i swapped an rs in place of a power 3,

the power 3 i consistently ran at 28, the RS at 30, as michelin suggest , the RS does NOT work well on the road

metalmechanic says:

I may give them a try. I have used 3 sets of MICH P 4’S, Getting about 5,000 miles each. More if not too much straight highway riding. Mostly dry, and aggressive fast street, back country riding. ZX 14.

metalmechanic says:

Ok , just ordered a set. The ZX 14 eats tires , I ll keep ya ll informed.I get about 4-5000 mi out of the Mich P4

Arturo Diaz says:

What is better for a track – super sport evo or Power RS?

Phillip elam says:

Can this tire go 215+?? If not which will.. I am looking for a street tire that won’t come apart after 200mph, if anyone could reply it would be greatly appreciated.

James Scott says:

how much??

Jayden Valentine says:

Hey Brian is this equivalent to the Rosso 3?

Agga Mardhika says:

hello i have a 5″ rim. can you recomend which size tyre for my rim?

CatDaddyRachel says:

Are they serious? These tires cost more than full on race tires. No thanks Michelin.

TJ Sisk says:

What trackday enthusiast or racer has ever followed the swing arm recommended tire pressure? 36/42? seriously? Sounds to me like Michelin is covering their a$$.

Bada Aaa says:

hey sportbike track gear,
is Michelin power RS better than Michelin super sports EVO?

metalmechanic says:

Received mine today. It will be awhile before i use them

the_whisperer says:

Hi Brian, thank you as always another great video. Keep up the good work! I love all of your reviews, as they always help me make an informed purchase. I am considering buying these for my R1.

I am really disgusted by some of these comments, especially from guys who are talking out of they a$$.

Best wishes, from London

Jeremias Boos says:

what a “review”. thanks for reading out the brochure instead of actually testing the tire. american online retailer crap. absolutely useless

DRamey86 says:

HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO THE OLD POWER 1 ? AND THE POWER CUP EVO TIRE THAT I JUST BOUGHT ? IS IT VERY SIMILAR TO THE POWER CUP EVO THEY LOOK THE SAME AND HAVE THE SAME COMPOUND IT SOUNDS LIKE ?
