the general altimax rt43 are definitely not the less popular choice. The rt43s have been the standard for touring tires in that they lead the way in wet and snow traction yet have good performance in all other tests. This sumitomo is a new tire and blatant rip off of the Falken Zeix950, which does have good rating in dry performance, a louder tire and can’t hold a candle to the rt43 in light snow.
I wouldn’t say sumitomo is a bad tire as it’s a great low budget option which will surprise you with quality.

Go with the Falken – PRO G4 A/S     Sumitomo is Falken——Falken is Sumitomo.  If your driving on rough roads you will hear some tire noise. But all in all for dry and wet roads you get the best bang for your buck with Falken tires. I have 235/45 18  pro G4 A/S on my 2008 Honda accord EX-L  and Wildpeak AT 3W on my 2006 Xterra.     I trust Falken tires
